Barrell Craft Spirits Cask Strength CQ28 Ruby Port Whiskey 750ml

Barrell Craft Spirits in Louisville Kentucky are one of the foremost independent bottlers in the United States. They’ve been sampling, selecting and blending barrels from all over the US and Canada for many years now.

This whiskey is from their Private Release Series. Small batches of whiskey are brought together and finished in a single barrel that will complement the spirit - much like what our great mate Tim Duckett is doing at Heartwood.

This expression takes whiskies from Indiana and Kentucky and has finished them in an ex-ruby port barrel. Ruby port utilises young wines and is so named for its bright, youthful colour.

This Barrell Private Release is blossom blush to the eye with berry compote, lashings of treacle and bright orchard fruits apparent on the nose. The palate is thick and warm with honey and wood spice up front moving to juicy sweet red fruits. The finish Is lively with orange peel and white pepper and sweet and fruity to the end with the berry compote lingering.
